Classe climatique ? Type de froid ?
Deux points techniques sont à prendre en compte lors de l’achat de votre congélateur :
La classe climatique
La classe climatique détermine les températures de la pièce que peut supporter votre congélateur pour un fonctionnement optimal. Contrairement aux idées reçues, la température ne doit pas trop descendre dans la pièce.
Il faut donc également prendre en compte l’emplacement, car si l’on peut être tenté de mettre son congélateur dans la cave, sur une terrasse ou dans une cuisine d’été, il faut respecter la classe climatique :
SN (SubNormale) : De +10°C à +32°C
N (Normale) : De +16°C à +32°C
SN-ST (Tempéré Subtropicalisé) : De +10°C à +38°C
ST (SubTropical) : De +18°C à +38°C
SN-T T (Tropical) : De +18°C à +43°C
Le type de froid
Comme sur les réfrigérateurs modernes, il existe plusieurs type de froid pour les congélateurs. Soit le froid statique, soit le froid ventilé (No frost).
Le froid statique est le système traditionnel, réparti le froid naturellement : l’air froid, plus lourd descend tandis que l’air chaud, plus léger monte. Il a tendence à créer du givre et nécessite un dégivrage périodique.
Le froid ventilé consiste en une turbine qui pulse l’air froid dans les différents compartiments, puis passe sur un évaporateur pour le débarrasser de l’humidité. La température est constante et homogène dans l’ensemble du congélateur. Il n’y a aucun dégivrage à faire et les parois restent lisses. Le froid ventilé n’est disponible que sur les congélateurs « armoire ».

Le congélateur coffre est proposé à partir de 119€ hors promotion pour une capacité de 95l environ. C’est le moins cher à l’achat et son ouverture par le dessus le rend très pratique pour les pièces exiguës (buanderie, sellier, sous-sol, etc).
Ces modèles nécessitent un dégivrage régulier car ils sont à froid statique, en contre-partie, ils proposent une autonomie importante (24-36h) en cas de coupure de courant.
Ils sont généralement disponibles dans de grandes capacités (au moins 90l, jusqu’à 600l pour les plus gros modèles) et permettent de stocker de grosses pièces (cartons de volaille, gibier, etc).
La majorité des congélateurs à coffre sont en classe énergétique A+, soit une consommation électrique annuelle d’environ 200 à 350Kwh/an, soit un peu moins de 50 euros par an.

Congélateur armoire
Le congélateur armoire est proposé à partir de 199€ hors promotion pour une capacité de 150l environ. C’est le plus cher à l’achat mais son faible encomprement au sol, comme un réfrigérateur, permet de l’installer facilement dans un coin de la cuisine ou d’un sellier.
Ces modèles disposent pour la plupart du froid ventilé (no-frost), ne nécessitant pas de dégivrage. Pour des questions de variété de budget, nous intégrons les deux type de congélateur à notre sélection.
Nous ne traitons ici que les modèles armoire « traditionnel », donc proposant une hauteur d’au moins 1m40, 4 à 8 tiroirs, et un volume d’au moins 150l.
La majorité des congélateurs armoire sont en classe énergétique A+, soit une consommation électrique annuelle d’environ 200 à 350Kwh/an, soit un peu moins de 50 euros par an. En cas de coupure de courant, ils tiennent entre 15h et 18h en général.
